Special Envoy of Seychelles for ASEAN, Mr. Nico Barito expressed that the progress to include Seychelles on the Visa Waiver is a successful achievement of his mission, following the recent Regulations of Minister of Law and Human Rights of The Republic of Indonesia Number 3 /2015 dated 03rd June 2015 which include Seychelles as the 69th nations provided with Visa on Arrival facility.
Seychelles is among the 10th African Countries granted with Visa Waiver by Indonesia, together with South Africa, Algiers, Angola, Ghana, Maldives, Tanzania, Tunis and Jordan.
Mr.Nico Barito presents its highest consideration to the Government of Indonesia and is confidence that the visa waiver will increase the Seychellois people to travel more to Indonesia and enhance greater people to people contact, trade and tourism between our two countries.
Under the Visa Waiver facility, all Seychellois passport can enter at all Indonesia port of entries, international airport, harbor and cross border.
The Visa Waiver has been put into force and all Seychellois travelling to Indonesia are now eligible to enjoy the Visa Free Facility to visit all over Indonesia regardless of the purpose, for official, education, social cultural, tourism, business, family visit or transit.
Visa Waiver is neither a work visa, nor to be extended or converted into another immigration permit. The maximum stay permitted is thirty (30) days.
To enjoy the Visa Waiver the travelers passport MUST be valid for at least 6 (six) months from the date of entry, and provision of confirmed return tickets.
The existing good friendship between Seychelles and Indonesia have coherence ties based on mutual respect and Mr. Barito at present is providing assistance for maritime economy development in Indonesia and sharing of best practices in eco-marine tourism with the small islands within this 17,000 islands archipelago. At present pilot projects undertaken are for acceleration of eco-marine destination in Nias islands at the Indian Ocean and with Derawan Islands in the East Kalimantan.
Last September 2014, Indonesia and Seychelles have also launched joint initiative as founders of Forum of Small Medium Enterprise AFRICA ASEAN.
Indonesian do not need a visa to travel to Seychelles which is one the niche eco-marine tourism destination of the world.
