Seychelles Mission in Jakarta welcomes Minister of Foreign Affairs

Minister ofForeign Affairs of the Republic of Seychelles H.E. Jean Paul Adamvisited Jakarta from November 20 to 23, 2013 with related officials from Seychelles Investment Board and Ministry of Finance to participate in the 6th OECD Global Forum on Transparency and Tax Information Exchanges. At the same time, Minister Jean Paul Adam conducted bilateral meeting with Minister of Foreign of Affairs of Indonesia. During an internal gathering with officials of Seychelles Mission at Jakarta, Minister Adam compliments the role of Seychelles mission in Indonesia to accelerate economic development between Seychelles - Indonesia and ASEAN, especially the remarkable growth of international business services between Seychelles and Indonesia. At a luncheon invitation by business tycoons of Indonesia, Minister Adam discussed on strengthening the cross border economic development and extended an official invitation tothe owners of business group and prime property developer of Indonesia to visit Seychelles On the occasion of meeting with Minister of Cooperative and SME's of Indonesia Dr.Syarifuddin Hasan, Minister Adam compliments Indonesia for the kind support to FORSEAA (Forum of Small Medium Enterprise AFRICA ASEAN) which is founded by Nico Barito, Special Envoy of Seychelles for ASEANconcurrently Consul General of Seychelles at Jakarta. FORSEAA has been soft launched in Jakarta by the end of 2012 by Minister of Cooperative and SME of Indonesia, Vice Minister of Industry of Indonesia, official from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia together with Ambassador and Representative from African Countries and ASEAN. In the cultural sector, the recurringIndonesian local government delegation at the annual Seychelles Carnival International Victoria since 2011 has strengthened the relationship between the two countries. Furthermore, The Carnival International Victoria 2014 has been pre-launched during the recent Krakatau Festival onOctober 2013 In LampungThe Province of Lampung has confirmed its participation in the 2014 International Carnival de Victoria and Seychelles has been invited to jointly co-host the Krakatau International Festival 2014 in Lampung - Indonesia on May 2014. Being a niche tourism destination of the world, Seychellesmission in Indonesia is progressing into joint island tourism promotion and reciprocal eco-tourism management with the small islands of Indonesia. This program will extend the corridor of Seychelles Tourism Board to profile anotherdestination and opportunity for Seychelles Investment Board toexplore new business venuein the Indian Ocean rim. The steady economic growth of Indonesia and ASEAN has opened new segment of traveler appropriate to Seychelles. The time is right to starta Seychelles Tourism Board official office in Jakarta to capture the Indonesian and ASEAN affluent tourist.Mr Felix, Seychelles Tourism Promotion Officer in Jakarta, estimated to realize at least 500 visitors to Seychelles during the first year. Minister Adam confirmed his full support to the establishment of STB in Jakarta inclusive of ASEAN.
