SEYCHELLES share best experience on Marine Tourism at BANGKA BELITUNG Province

Belitung Regency an island regency in Bangka Belitung Province is surrounded by 189 small islands and its scenic beaches and granitic islands resemble the topography of Seychelles.
Seychelles Consulate in Jakarta has realized a good friendship and supported Bangka Belitung periodical cultural event and festivals.
Recently on September 20, 2011 Hon.Consul Nico Barito is invited to present his views on marine tourism together with Ambassador S T Cavuilatti of FIJI . The seminar which was held as part of the Sail Wakatobi Belitung 2011 is attended by local and international speakers both from tourism practitioners and academic expert on marine and conservation as well as The Regent Head of Wakatobi (an eco-tourism resort island in the eastern part of Indonesia).
The Closing Ceremony of Sail Wakatobi – Belitung is held on October 13, 2011 by the Vice President of Indonesia, attended by cabinet members and Commander in Chief of the Indonesian National Defence Forces and its respective Chief of Staffs. On this occasion, Seychellesrealized agood intention with Bangka Belitung topromote marine tourism, and Belitung Regent will identify a pilot project to be jointly developed and managed with Seychelles. Hon Consul Nico Barito has alsoextended an official invitation for Bangka Belitung Province to take part in the Seychelles Carnival 2012.
Bangka Belitung Province is an archipelago at the western Indonesia near South Sumatera. It includes two large islands, Bangka and Belitung, and several smaller ones. Bangka Belitung (BABEL) Islands province is the 31st Province in Indonesia, one of the newest provinces. Bangka Belitung get it’s approved as a new province in 2001 separated with south Sumatra. The region was a great tin mining; however in the new phase in its life BABEL provisioned the beautiful of nature, and the unique culture to step to the better future of eco-marine tourism.
