Seychelles calls on members of Non- Aligned Movement to step up involvement in fight against piracy and Sea Level Rise
Honorary Consul Nico Barito accompanies The High Commission of Seychelles Dick Esparon together
with Mr.Christan Faure, officer of Ministry of Foreign Affairs during The Non-Aligned Movement Ministerial Meeting in Bali from May 24 to May 27, 2011.
During this occasion, Mr. Nico Barito and Mr. Dick Esparon meet with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia Dr. Marty Natalegawa, where Seychelles express its strong advocacy for commitments among the NAM member states on the issue of sea level rise specifically the pose threat to small island states.
Seychelles also highlighted the strong commitments to combat piracy in the Gulf of Eden and The Indian Ocean, and seek the effort of international collaboration towards resilience in the ocean towards nations sovereignty.
The NAM meeting in Bali commemorates the 50th anniversary of the movement and member states
and their tireless endeavors in the promotion of a more peaceful and equitable world order.
Seychelles mission congratulates Azerbaijan and Fiji on the endorsement of their membership as new NAM members.
The next NAM Ministerial Conference is projected to be held in Tehran, Iran next year.
